Heritage House

The 1899 Heritage House is one of Dawson's oldest original gold rush buildings. It has four spacious guest rooms — two are located on the ground floor and two are on the top floor. Referred to as the Whitehouse Cabins "apartments" by Irene Whitehouse during the 1950's, these guest rooms each have private front and rear entrances and sleep up to four people comfortably with a queen and two twin beds. All of these units have private bathrooms and fully stocked kitchenettes. Ample shared parking is located in front of the building and an outdoor sitting area, with picnic table and BBQ, is provided in a naturally wooded spot outside your back door.

Riverside Cabin

The Riverside Cabin was established during the 1940's by Ed Whitehouse, using gold rush era shipyard buildings. It has a rustic cottage atmosphere and offers two separate cozy guest rooms with private entrances. One unit has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Both of these units have private bathrooms and fully stocked kitchenettes. A shared parking space plus an outdoor sitting area, with picnic table and BBQ, is provided right outside your door.

Gold Rush Cabin

The Gold Rush Cabin was built in 1897 and restored in 2005. This historic log cabin is an exquisite suite with an elegant rustic interior decor. It features a queen-sized bed with down-filled duvet, an antique cast iron claw foot tub and pedestal sink, a full kitchen and dining area, flat screen TV with DVD player and a large private front deck with BBQ.

Wall Tent Cabins

The Wall Tent Cabins are characteristic of early accommodations during, and before, the Klondike Gold Rush. The wall tents feature queen, double & twin beds with duvets, table & chairs, mini-fridge, coffee/tea service and Wifi. A washhouse with sink, shower, toilet is situated outside your door. A cookhouse with stove, cookware, running water, and BBQ access is also available. The wall tent cabins are a great add-on for small groups staying in the Heritage House. They are also suitable for two people seeking a standard-style guest room.

Reservations & Cancellations

  • Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to 5% (gst) tax. 

  • Accepted methods of payment include: Mastercard, Visa, Interac/Debit Card, CAD & US Travellers Cheques, and CAD & US Cash.

  • Reservations must be secured with a valid Visa or Mastercard number and expiry date.

  • All bookings are subject to 48 hours notice of cancellation for a full refund. Clients must provide 2 days notice prior to the date of arrival (or departure).

  • A 7-day cancellation policy applies to some periods (e.g. July Music Festival weekend & August ArtsFest/Discovery Day weekend) and bookings (e.g. group reservations consisting of 3 or more guest rooms).

  • Check in time begins at 4 pm (or by prior arrangement).

  • Check out time is 11am.

 

Of Importance to Our Guests

  • All guest rooms are NON-SMOKING, except for our outdoor sitting areas.

  • We offer a seniors discount. Please inquire at the time of booking.

  • Children under 5 years stay for free.

  • Please be advised that youths under 14 years may not be left unattended (i.e. without adult supervision) in guest rooms or on the premises.

 

 

Our Pet Policy:

  • Pets are welcome in designated guest rooms for an additional cost of $20/pet per room night. It is the guest's responsibility to notify us at the time of booking, that they will be travelling with a pet in order to ensure that a pet-friendly room is selected for the reservation.

  • We have a limit of two pets per room but there are no restrictions on the size of your pet.

  • Pets are not to be left unattended (i.e. in your room, tethered outdoors, in your vehicle, etc.).

  • We ask that you keep your pet on a short leash at all times in and around the hotel.

  • You must pick up after your pet when taking him/her for a walk. Whitehouse Cabins features a large spacious outdoor area nearby - ideal for exercising your pet! 

  • Pets must be kept off hotel furniture including beds, couches and chairs.

  • Should there be any damage to the guestroom (carpet, bedding, furnishings, etc.) your credit card will be charged a minimum of $200.00 for the cost of the cleaning or repairs.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Pets are not allowed in the Wall Tents or in the Gold Rush Cabin.
